Carl Wesley Reno Obituary ~ March 13, 1932 - July 21, 2022
CENTRAL CITY — Carl Wesley Reno, born March 13, 1932, passed away in his
home on the morning of July 21, 2022 at age 90. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Charles and Maude Reno; son, Steven Osteen; granddaughter, Brandy
Vaughn; great-grandson, Garrett Mork; and his brothers and sisters, William
Reno, Beulah Mooningham, Pauline Craig, Edward Reno, Dorothy Paxton, and James
Reno.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Faye Reno, and his children: Candy (Ricky)
Franklin, Tim (Anita) Reno, Robin (Mark) Eades, Bobby (Debbie) Reno; his ten
grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Carl was a man with a quick wit who loved to make other people laugh. He was
also a master checker player who played people all over the world, won many
checker tournaments, and even wrote checker books to help others learn to play
the game on a higher level. He was proud to be called GLOC – Greatest Lover of
Checkers. Carl was a family man who was totally devoted to his wife, Shirley,
until the very end. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Graveside Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 11:00 AM at
Fairmount Cemetery in Central City, with Bro. Bobby Reno officiating. Tucker
